Casey Tschida of AppAdvice.com says WordZAbout “gives a fresh feel to the casual puzzle genre” by mixing strategy elements into the word game matrix.
WordZAbout: A mystery path of question marks twists and turns across a board of hexagons. Each question mark hides an image, a visual clue to the six scrambled words on the six sides of the hexagon.

Your starting point is the first image you can see. Every time you solve a word abutting another question-mark hexagon, that hexagon’s hidden image is unveiled – along with the next six scrambled words.
When all six words of any hexagon are solved, its initial image vanishes to reveal a minor part of a larger picture beneath. After all the hexagons are solved, the ultimate brainteaser remains – a final Hangman puzzle relating to the full-board image and sometimes to one or more “theme” hexagons in the main puzzle.
Points are awarded as each word is solved, one point per letter. Each time all six scrambles of a hexagon are solved without using a clue, a successive multiplier is applied to the hexagon’s total score – so the second “clean hexagon” gets a doubled score, the third a tripled score….. Imagine the astronomical scores just waiting for you!
Scrambles too tough to solve? Contemplate the image – think laterally – in WordZAbout, little is as it seems! Flummoxed? Give up points or use tokens you’ve earned to purchase a hint – but sacrifice your “clean hexagon” bonus. Still bedeviled by that one word? You can give up points or use tokens to access the answer – while you get no points for that word, you can complete the puzzle. Access Google from within the app to look up your ideas – you don’t have to go out and come back in!
Pause WordZAbout at any time to see your stats – time on task, percent finished, how many clues and answers you’ve purchased. Choose your own strategy: not using any clues will give you huge scores but cost you in time; faster finishers get higher time bonuses at the end. Find your own formula for success and soar in the rankings!

So sorry you are having this problem! We became aware of it just a few days ago; Marc has found and exterminated the bug responsible, and the patch is under review at Apple right now. Version 1.01 should be available in a short time, as soon as Apple does their thing.

WordZAbout v. 1.01 To Support Horizontal People
Our initial release of WordZAbout plays great – unless you are using an iPad 3 or iPad 4, and try to enter the game in landscape orientation, in which case the game will crash as soon as you hit the Play button. (Oddly enough, if you go into the game in portrait, and then rotate 90 degrees to landscape, the game plays fine. Go figure.) Anyway, thanks in large part to one extremely helpful player, Karen B., we found the bug and fixed it. Thank you, Karen!! The patch was submitted to the App Store yesterday, and will be available for download – well, you know the drill. Whenever they get to it! (Probably early next week.)
Once you Horizontal People get the patch, you should be able to play “flat” to your heart’s content – and please let us know if you have any problems! Horizontal People Rejoice!
Happiness is now available for download for all you Horizontal People who were having — uh — issues — with WordZAbout when holding your device longways! The App Store released Version 1.01 last night. This patch exterminates the bug that was causing the game to crash in Landscape mode, so now you can embrace your Horizontalness AND play WordZAbout too.
